Kristy Love is the owner of The LAB. She is a very skilled hair stylist and make-up artist who is originally from Kauai. She recieved her cosmetology license in 1996, and in 1998 she ventured to Hollywood to work as a hair and makeup artist in the entertaiment industry. There she worked in film, television, and print and had the opportunity to work with several celebrity clients. She furthered her salon skills by recieving advanced education at Vidal Sassoon and through Aveda, and by training under master stylist Takafumi Oiwa at Studio Taka in Laguna beach. She specializes in hair cutting, coloring, and thermal straightening. She is a licensed cosmetologist in the states of Hawaii and California. In addition to working extensively with hair, Kristy is also an accomplished make-up artist, specializing in airbrush make-up. In addition to doing make-up for print, television, and film, she has worked as a special event makeup artist for lines such as Versace, Nars, MAC, Face Stockholm, Christian Dior, and Shu Uemura. She is also proficient in character/gore make-up. Emmanuel Sanchez (aka Mani) is a very talented barber, who comes from a family of hairdressers. He has an artistic eye and creates works of art in the form of barber design. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Emmanuel came to the United States at the age of 10, and by the age of 15 he was cutting hair. He has lived in New Jersey, Florida, and Alaska. While in Alaska he opened a barbershop and worked alongside many talented barbers. He is now settled on Kauai with his wife and two sons. His impeccable haircuts can be seen on most of Kauai's finest heads! |
